How to check a training provider

PilotBooker is an independent directory and communications platform, not an aviation authority or certification body. Use this checklist and official regulator links before enrolling, signing a contract or paying.

PilotBooker does not approve or verify providers

PilotBooker does not issue, renew, suspend or revoke aviation approvals, licences, certificates, ratings or training privileges. It does not conduct regulatory audits and does not certify, accredit, approve, recommend or endorse a provider, course, instructor, examiner, aircraft, simulator or outcome.

Provider-supplied information. Authority names, approval references, course claims, locations, devices, dates and other regulatory information displayed on PilotBooker are supplied by providers or other third parties. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, suspended, restricted or outside the scope relevant to you.

Checks to make before you commit

  • 01Confirm the provider’s exact legal name and the legal entity that will contract with and invoice you.
  • 02Identify the competent aviation authority for the provider, training location, licence state and intended course.
  • 03Confirm the authority reference directly through an official register or authority contact channel.
  • 04Check that the specific course, aircraft or simulator, location and training privilege fall within the current scope.
  • 05Check current status, expiry, limitations, suspension or revocation information and ask the authority when records are unclear.
  • 06Confirm whether the training will be recognised by your licensing authority, airline or employer.
  • 07Obtain the complete written price, exclusions, refund terms, dates, prerequisites and contracting-party details.
  • 08Do not rely on a directory profile, review, logo, copied certificate or provider statement as a substitute for official confirmation.

An authority number is not enough

A valid organisation may have approval for only certain courses, locations, aircraft, simulators or privileges. A certificate can also be limited, amended, suspended, surrendered, expired or revoked. Confirm the exact scope and date that apply to the service you intend to purchase.

Different legal routes exist. Depending on the jurisdiction and course, lawful training may be provided under different frameworks. For example, European rules distinguish ATO and DTO routes, and United States training can occur under Part 61, Part 141 or Part 142 depending on the activity. Do not treat absence from one list as proof of illegality; ask the competent authority.
